Finished & Unfinished

Basement Cleaning in Greater Pittsburgh

From cobweb-covered rafters to the family room downstairs, we bring the basement up to the same standard as the rest of your home.

Basement Cleaning

The basement is the one part of the house most cleanings skip. Dust settles on rafters and ductwork, cobwebs build up in the corners, and walls and floors quietly collect years of grime. Pittsburgh's older homes and damp seasons make it worse.

We clean both kinds of basement. In an unfinished basement we work from the rafters down: dusting joists, wiping down the outside of the furnace and water heater, washing walls, and scrubbing the concrete floor. In a finished basement we treat it like any other living space, with the extra attention a lower level needs. Book it on its own, or add it to a deep clean or a move-out.

Need the clutter hauled out first?

Basement cleaning is for a space that's already cleared. If yours is packed with old furniture, boxes, or appliances, our basement cleanout crew carries it all up the stairs and hauls it away. Then we can come back and clean the empty space top to bottom.

Finished vs. unfinished basements

Every basement is different, so we quote and clean the space you actually have. Here's what each type of visit covers.

Unfinished basement

Exposed rafters, concrete floors, and the mechanicals that keep your house running.

  • Dust rafters, joists, and the tops of exposed beams
  • Remove cobwebs from ceilings, corners, and window wells
  • Dust and wipe the outside of the furnace, water heater, and ductwork
  • Wipe down exposed pipes, the electrical panel door, and the sump pit cover
  • Wash painted block or poured concrete walls
  • Wipe the washer, dryer, and utility sink inside and out
  • Dust shelving and storage areas we can reach
  • Sweep and mop or scrub the concrete floor

Finished basement

Family rooms, guest suites, home gyms, and bars, cleaned like the rest of your home.

  • Wash walls, doors, and trim, and detail the baseboards
  • Dust drop-ceiling tiles, ceiling fans, vents, and light fixtures
  • Vacuum carpet and rugs, and mop hard floors
  • Clean the basement bathroom top to bottom
  • Wipe down the wet bar or kitchenette, counters, and sink
  • Dust furniture, TV stands, shelving, and gym equipment
  • Clean egress windows, sills, and the inside of the glass
  • Dust and wipe the mechanical room, if there is one

We clean the outside of furnaces, water heaters, and other mechanicals only. We don't open, service, or move equipment. If we spot active mold or water damage, we'll point it out so you can call a remediation pro.

How it works

  1. 1

    Tell us about the space

Let us know whether the basement is finished or unfinished, about how big it is, and what condition it's in. Photos help.

  2. 2

    Clear, honest quote

We price the basement you actually have, as its own job or as an add-on to your cleaning.

  3. 3

    Top-down clean

We start with the rafters and ceilings, work down through the walls and mechanicals, and finish with the floors so nothing falls on a clean surface.

  4. 4

    Walkthrough & guarantee

We walk through the space with you and make it right if anything falls short.

Basement Cleaning questions

Do you clean unfinished basements?

Yes. We dust the rafters and joists, remove cobwebs, wash the block or concrete walls, wipe down the outside of the furnace, water heater, and ductwork, and sweep and scrub the floor.

Will you clean around my furnace and water heater?

We dust and wipe the outside of mechanicals and clean the floor around them. We don't open, service, or move equipment. That's a job for your HVAC or plumbing pro.

Can you clean a basement that hasn't been touched in years?

Absolutely. That's often when it helps the most. Tell us about the condition up front, or send a few photos, so we can plan the right amount of time.

Do you remove junk or haul things away?

Our basement service is cleaning, not hauling. We clean around stored items and on the shelving we can reach. If the space needs clearing out first, let us know and we'll talk through options.

Can I add basement cleaning to a regular or deep clean?

Yes. Many clients add the basement to a deep clean or a move-out clean, and you can also book it on its own.
