Garage cleanout questions, answered
- How much does a garage cleanout cost in Pittsburgh?
- Garage cleanouts start at a $399 project minimum for smaller jobs and quick pickups. A half trailer load is $650 and a full trailer load is $950. Pricing is based on how much space your items take up in our trailer, so you always know the number before we start. A few items carry a small add-on fee for special disposal, and we tell you about those up front too.
- What does the price include?
- The load price covers all the labor, loading, hauling, and responsible disposal. Our crew does 100% of the heavy lifting from wherever the items sit — you never have to drag anything to the curb. There are no hidden fuel or dump surcharges on standard household junk; the only extras are the clearly listed special-disposal items, which we quote before we load them.
- What items require an additional fee?
- A handful of items cost more to dispose of because of dump fees or regulated handling: refrigerators and freezers (+$40 each) and air conditioners (+$30 each) need certified Freon recovery; mattresses and box springs run +$35–50 each; tires are +$15 each; and heavy fill like concrete, brick, stone, and dirt starts at +$75 per load because it's priced by weight. Large volumes of construction debris are weighed and quoted on site. We always confirm these before adding them to your job.
- What can't you take at all?
- For safety and dump restrictions, we can't accept liquid paint, gasoline or fuel, propane tanks, hazardous chemicals, medical waste and sharps, asbestos, or ammunition, explosives, and fireworks. When in doubt, just ask — we're happy to point you to the right drop-off for those items.
- Do I need to be home for the cleanout?
- It helps to be there at the start so you can point out what stays and what goes, but once we're clear on the scope, you're welcome to step away. We'll confirm everything is done and send you before-and-after photos if you'd like.
